The Different Sizes of Loops

In naturally curly hair, the strands always have different curl sizes .

Most of the strands belong to a master size .

The other strands are smaller or larger than this main size.

Generally, if the difference in size between the strands is very noticeable, it may be due to:

A variation in hydration or nutrition between the strands,

A temporary modification (braiding, curling, straightening), etc.

On the other hand, if curly hair is wet and the size difference is very pronounced — for example, some strands with very small curls and others with very large curls — this may indicate that the hair has been chemically altered, burned, or damaged .
