If you want to know the porosity of your hair, you can perform the water glass test.

The method involves filling a glass with water (preferably limescale-free) and immersing one or more strands of hair in it. Then, simply wait 3 to 5 minutes and observe how the hair absorbs the water.

If the hair falls to the bottom of the glass, it means it has high porosity . The cuticles are then wide open: water penetrates easily but evaporates just as quickly, which makes the hair dry easily.

If the hair remains halfway open, its porosity is considered good . The cuticles are therefore moderately open.

If the hair remains on the surface, it means it has porosity. weak . The scales are then closed or very slightly open.
